Plane-parallel components

Testing station for plane-parallel parts. Sound is transferred using water via Squirter-Technology or dry using roller probes.

Max Part Size: 3,000mm x 2,000mm

Testing system for plane-parallel, slightly curved or parabolic components up to a size of 2 by 3 meters. Ultrasonic testing using impulse-echo or through-transmission technology. Sound is transferred to the component using water (Squirter-Technology) or dry using roller probes. Both provide equally excellent testing results.

Two testing probes integrated in separate collimators made of acrylic are immersed in water, which transfers the ultrasonic signal (Squirter-Technology).
The exiting laminar streams of water are adjusted via set screws until they form a uniform corona in the center. Adjustment for sound-based testing of a component.

Impulse-echo based testing of u-profiles made of thermoplastics up to 3m in length. The testing results will be analyzed shortly

Impulse-echo based testing of u-profiles made of thermoplastics up to 3m long. The second collimator for sound transmission testing is not required here, we just listen to the echo.

Testing using roller probes.
If the top layer is not waterproof or if the customer so desires, we test using dry sound transfer with roller probes. This is comparable to using air-based sound transfer, but using this solution we don't need another separate testing system. The results are just as good as they are when testing wet via the Squirter-Technology.

A 2 x 2 m octagonal carbon-fiber aluminum composite sandwich panel being tested using Squirter-Technology. The outer ring is sealed with waterproof tape to prevent water from leaking into the perforated aluminum honeycomb.
